Burnout is not a badge of honor. Discover how CEO rhythms of rest, reflection, and renewal help you lead with clarity and confidence — without rushing
Let’s keep it real. Somewhere along the way, hustle culture convinced us that busyness equals importance. That rushing from meeting to meeting, multitasking through lunch, and collapsing into bed at midnight means you’re “doing it right.”
But here’s the truth: Busy ≠ Blessed. Rush ≠ Revenue. Hustle ≠ Harmony.
Burnout is not proof of commitment. It’s proof of misalignment.
The most effective CEOs don’t run on rush — they run on rhythms. Rhythms that honor their time, protect their energy, and keep them leading from a place of overflow instead of emptiness.
This is the difference between women who survive their business and women who lead it.
Let’s break down why rushing feels good but costs you everything.
Rushing Feels Productive, But Isn’t. You’re doing more, but finishing less. You’re busy but not impactful.
Rushing Destroys Creativity. Your best ideas don’t come while you’re sprinting. They come when you’re still enough to hear God’s whisper.
Rushing Hurts Your Health. Stress hormones spike, sleep suffers, and your body pays the bill.
Rushing Sabotages Relationships. When you’re always rushing, you’re never fully present with the people you love.
Sis, rushing isn’t leadership. It’s survival. And you weren’t called to survive. You were called to steward, to lead, and to thrive.
From the beginning, God modeled rhythms for us.
Creation Rhythm: Six days of work, one day of rest (Genesis 2:2-3).
Jesus’ Rhythm: Withdrew often to quiet places to pray, then returned to minister (Luke 5:16).
Kingdom Rhythm: Times of sowing and reaping, working and resting, speaking and listening (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
If God Himself modeled rest as part of creation, and Jesus modeled rhythms of retreat, who are we to think rushing nonstop is leadership?
Rhythms aren’t optional. They’re spiritual.
Here’s how I teach my clients to install CEO Rhythms that sustain their leadership:
Morning Momentum: Start with prayer, journaling, or quiet reflection before email and social media.
CEO Power Block: Schedule 2–3 hours of deep, focused work daily for your highest-level priorities.
Evening Wind-Down: Tech-free bedtime routine that signals your body to rest.
CEO Day: Block 1 day each week for visioning, reviewing, and planning — no client calls, no admin.
Sabbath Rest: One day fully off. No emails. No hustle. Just rest and replenish. That's right. You don't have to be ON all.the.time.
Reset Retreats: Half-day or full-day each month to reflect on wins, adjust strategies, and reset intentions.
Quarterly Alignment: Review financials, goals, and team rhythms every 90 days to stay aligned.
When you install rhythms, you stop reacting and start leading.
Let me set you free: Rest is not something you earn after working yourself into exhaustion. Rest is something you schedule so you never hit exhaustion.
High-performing CEOs know:
Innovation comes in silence.
Strategy comes in space.
Peace comes in pauses.
When you wait until you’re burnt out to rest, you’re leading backwards. Rest must be built into your system, not slapped on as an afterthought.
Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Notice He didn’t say, “Work harder and maybe I’ll give you rest.” He said, “Come to me.”
Exodus 33:14 adds, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Rest is not a weakness. It’s a promise. It’s not laziness — it’s leadership. It's wisdom for vitality and longevity as we furnish the assignment.
When you rest, you’re declaring: "I trust God enough to pause. I believe He can handle the world while I recharge." That’s faith in action.
Here’s how to start leading from rest instead of rush this week:
Circle the commitments that drain you. Star the ones that align with your vision. Be brutally honest.
Add your Sabbath, CEO Day, and at least 2 personal breaks on your calendar first. Protect them like million-dollar meetings.
No emails before prayer. No phone scrolling before sleep. Start and end your day like a CEO.
50/10 Rule → 50 minutes of work, 10 minutes of rest. (The Pomodoro Technique is FIYAH!!!) Check out this resource : https://www.tomatotimers.com/
Midday reset → quick walk, prayer, or journaling.
Tech-free dinner → be present with family. (The greatest gift we can give anyone is the gift of our full, undivided attention.)
Every Friday, ask:
What gave me energy this week?
What drained me?
What needs to shift in my rhythms?
Sis, you can’t lead from depletion. Rush steals your crown. Rest secures it.
Stop glorifying exhaustion.
Stop apologizing for Sabbath.
Stop believing rest makes you fall behind.
You are not falling behind when you rest. You are fueling your future.
If your life feels like one long rush, let’s reset it. I’ll help you design rhythms that protect your time, restore your energy, and strengthen your leadership.
