Stretch Season : How to Lead While Letting Go

Discover 3 powerful mindset shifts to help faith-driven women lead with grace, clarity, and strategy during uncertain seasons of letting go and growth

Welcome, Magnificent.

If you’re in a season where you’re doing your best to keep it together—but deep down, you know something is shifting—this is for you. I call it the Stretch Season: a sacred, in-between space where God is stretching your faith, your vision, and your leadership.

As someone who’s experienced it more than once, I want to encourage you with 3 powerful mindset shifts that helped me lead myself—and my clients—with grace, faith, and strategy when I didn’t have all the answers.

Read on and breathe deep.

THE STRETCH SEASON

There comes a moment in every leader’s journey when things no longer feel stable, certain, or secure—when what used to work stops working, clarity feels distant, and your grip on “how it’s always been” starts to loosen.

I call that the Stretch Season—a sacred, uncomfortable in-between where God is doing deep, transformational work. It’s not a punishment (though growing pains are a thing; I can feel the burn right now). It’s preparation.

In these stretch seasons, we are called to lead while letting go. That’s not easy. But it is possible—with grace, faith, and strategy.

Today, I want to share three powerful mindset shifts that helped me ( and continue to help me) lead myself—and my clients—through uncertainty and into alignment.

Whether scaling your business, navigating transition, or simply trying to hold it all together, these shifts can help you move forward without falling apart.

🎯 Mindset Shift #1: Surrender Is a Strategy

Letting go doesn’t mean giving up.
It means making room.

As high-achieving women, we often treat control like currency—if I can plan it, hold it, manage it… I can secure the outcome. But in stretch seasons, control becomes a weight, not a weapon.

The real power? Surrender.
Not to chaos, but to God’s higher plan.

When I stopped clinging to every detail and started asking, “God, what would You have me do next?” That’s when the downloads came—the clarity, the calm, the unexpected solutions.

Practice This:
Each morning, release the need to control and ask, “What’s my assignment today?”

Focus on alignment over activity. Let God set the pace.

💡 Mindset Shift #2: Clarity Comes Through Motion

So many women tell me, “I just need clarity.”
But clarity rarely comes in stillness—it comes in movement.

Not frantic hustle. Purposeful action.

In my Ideal Day framework, I teach clients to take micro-steps toward their vision, even when they don’t have the complete picture yet. God often reveals the next step after obedience to the first.

When you’re letting go of the old, it’s tempting to freeze until the new feels fully formed. But in the Stretch Season, you must walk with what you do know, even if it’s just the next 15 minutes.

Practice This:
Start your day with a 5-minute clarity check-in:

  • What matters most today?

  • What can wait?

  • What’s God prompting me to move on—even if it’s scary?

🧭 Mindset Shift #3: Lead Yourself First

You cannot pour from an empty vessel—or lead from a scattered soul.

In uncertain seasons, our default is often to do more for others to feel a sense of control or value. But the most powerful thing you can do is lead yourself first—with compassion and discipline.

This means honoring your rhythms.
Setting boundaries.
Resting without guilt.
Investing in support.

Because your alignment is your assignment.

When I finally permitted myself to rest, to get help, and to slow down, I came back more powerful than ever. My clients felt it. My business shifted. My peace expanded. My life changed.

Practice This:
Schedule a daily “CEO check-in” to ask:

  • How am I really doing today?

  • What do I need right now?

  • Who or what do I need to say “no” to in order to stay aligned with my purpose and vision?

Final Thoughts: Stretch Seasons Don’t Last Forever

But they do shape forever.

They shape your leadership.
They stretch your capacity.
They strengthen your faith.

Letting go is not the end—it’s the invitation to grow into your next level with intention, wisdom, and grace.

So, if you’re in a Stretch Season, know this: You are not alone.
You’re not behind.
You’re being refined.

Stay the course.
Lean in.
Let go.

And lead—starting with you.
